Health clubs are a great way to build exercise into your life—you have expert advice from qualified instructors, group litness classes to choose from, a program designed tor you in the gym and many also have a pool, squash courts or an associated running club. Nevertheless your first visit can be a little daunting. Do your research first and find a club that meets your needs:
- Is it within a 15-minute drive from either your home or work?
- If you have young children, is there a creche?
- What are the opening hours—if you want to go in the early morning or late evening are there classes at these times?
- If you think you would enjoy swimming or aqua classes, is there a pool?
- Will an instructor provide a gym program to get you started?
- What are the membership fee options and what is the get-out clause if you wish to cease membership?
