How much exercise?
Now that you have decided which types of exercise you would enjoy and arc going to suit you, plan how they will fit into your week. If you write exactly what you are going to do in your diary and treat it as any other appointment, you will ensure you stick to the plan. Try to do something active on most days and add the following:
- Three cardiovascular sessions-this could be a group fitness class, cycling, a brisk walk or swimming.
- Two resistance workouts - you could join a weights-based groupp fitness class, or have a program designed for you at your health club. Yoga and Pilates classes will also improve your strength and muscle tone, though to a lesser extent.
